Fong Studio
Rebranded
Fong Studio has implemented a variable logo suite. Our primary logo remains consistent, but supporting elements are designed to adapt to meet the tone of voice of the output. Where possible we aim to use our primary colour logo in all digital situations. This is set in our Fong Blue, which is an RGB colour. When the full colour version is not suitable it is acceptable to use one of the following monochromatic options.
The full colour logo should only be used against a white background, however it is acceptable to use the reversed logo on a solid Fong Blue background in place of the primary logo when suitable.
The brand also has two icons that can be used as supporting elements. Derived from the Haltrix typeface, the F Icon can be used in a variety of manners, such as in footers, on studio merchandise and as a supporting graphic.
Additionally there is the Eyecon, an animated character rendered in a stop motion manner, highlighting the one-man-band and lo-fi reality of a small studio.
Our primary headline font is OhNo Type’s Obviously Condensed, set in either Super, Black or Bold (dependant on legibility) and in full caps. Headlines should be used to create emphasis, unafraid to stretch titles across the width of an item to create emphasis.
Following from our headlines, subheadings should be set on Obviously Condensed Semibold, Medium or Regular.
Body copy should be set in Covik Sans Mono Regular, and is ideally set at 10pt with 12pt leading and 2mm space after.
This type style is most suitable for A4 and A3, however if this isn’t suitable please keep the font point to leading ratio at 5 / 6 (i.e. 10pt/12pt) and space after approximately the height of the character. While in some instances Fong Blue can be used for copy, this should ideally be reserved for headers and footers, with black used for most instances.
In addition to our standard brand fonts it is acceptable to use one additional font as
a point of emphasis. This should only be done sparingly to retain its unique quality.
These should also be used in relation to the stacked/variable logo (see secondary/stacked variable logo) and should not be used in combination with other emphasis fonts.
If no stacked logo has been set to dictate the emphasis font the default is Haltrix regular.
Our secondary logo suite is made up of a set of variable logos, stacked in the full studio name: Fong Studio. These variable logos can be used in secondary collateral pieces and can be changed to suit the tone of voice of the deliverable.
While all four have a distinctly playful variation to the primary brandmark they each have a unique tone of voice, and the designer may use their discretion in using these.
A quick guide to these is featured in the descriptions across, being Designery,
Outdoors, Gothic and Grunge. Depending on the intention of the design each one of
these can be used.
As we are a primarily digital business, and our advertisements exist exclusively in digital spaces, we utilise the vibrant RGB colour spectrum for our minimal colour palette.
These colours are our core brand and tone of voice, electric, unique, bright and
eye-catching.
When designing an A4 document the across A4 grid should be used as a guideline. It is a 19x28 grid with a 10mm margin, making a series of imperfect squares.
When working on an A3 document the grid will scale up, where a tight 10mm margin will also be used.
If the margin must be changed for print purposes the grid should be adapted to roughly suit these same dimensions.
